Everybody always says it's not my forte. Why isn't the opposite ever said?

Dear Alarmforce...

Posted by: Quigley in Useless 'n Shit
Friday, April 25th 2008 at 2:49pm

I am sending this letter per your instructions. Please cancel my subscription effective immediately. The alarm system was picked up by Purolator this morning. My account details were included with the package and both sensors and the main alarm unit were returned and very securely packed for transit.

As I understand the situation my account is in good standing and my contract expires this month. I was told there is a cutoff for alarm system return, which I missed, so I understand a payment will be taken at the first of May, but I expect that it will be the last one.

I require immediate notification if that is not to be true, or if this letter is yet insufficient to fulfill your rather disingenuous contract cancellation policies. I anticipate with sincere happiness the absence of any further dealings with your company in the future, and regret that your avaricious desire to secure long term contracts has impeded your ability to provide the same reasonable service negotiation and termination options and proper initial due diligence that I have come to generally expect from reputable organizations. Furthermore, I maintain hope that your directives may shift in the future, so I may one day cease in advising my friends and family members, and anyone else who will listen, to avoid your company with the same vigilance one employs when attempting to elude death itself.

Sincerely,

Lincoln McCormick

I walked another 12 KM Today

Clitty, Georgina and my fat ass walked another 12KM today around the Toronto islands. Twas some good times.

But now there's no TTC strike (yet) so, my warm up walks were all for naught. Although for May I know I won't have a metropass, so perhaps I'll get some more heel-toe'in in.

And, mmm... sunburned forehead.

In preparation of the TTC strike, i went to give my legs a workout. I ended up going pretty far. I walked around and saw lots of entertaining things. I made a google map to see how far I went.

That's exciting, eh?

Why You Shouldn't Wash Dishes

Posted by: Quigley in Useless 'n Shit

More specifically... don't wash dishes by putting your hand - however small and fittable - inside a glass. I got a nasty gash just yesterday doing so. I would post pictures but it's gross - especially since the hospital dude, in searching for a foreign body inside my skin, had to take a scalpel and make the wound about twice as big as it was.

The glass cut right through the skin so that he could pull the wound apart with skin hooks and watch my tendons as I contracted and released my fingers. It was kinda cool, having a square inch of the inner workings of my hand visible to me and others for a half hour or so. But I'd rather not repeat it. Waste of an evening. Oh well; should produce a nifty scar...
