College Sucks

I've officially decided that, in Canada, college sucks. Everyone here has some strange distinction between college and university. What's the difference? I still have post-secondary education! You're training me for a job aren't you? Why do I have to be discriminated against? Do you believe I don't have what it takes because I went to a business college to get some applied skills rather than theory?
I'm mad. I'm upset. I'm listening to some really hard music for the first time in a long while. Why? Oh, because I went to the job fair in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. From that first paragraph, one can pull out everything of note. I was discriminated against with no shame. Many of the employers would not even talk to me because they have a mindset that college is lower than university.
The only people I could even get to speak to me were the Americans who don't make a distinction between college/university. Fucker hell. What am I paying all of this money for?
Looks like I'm going for the 5 year programÂ…either I give up the 2 years I've put in so far and go for 3 at university, or graduate my program and get some equivalencies, which brings it down to 2 years I think. Ah well, I always wanted to be a professional student. (Yay).

I went to a University in the States, and I saw what Mike said...we don't make a distinction. I think, personally, that those who go to a College would probably have skills that are more valuable in the workplace because they're trained to be able to do the work. Anyway, Mike, your attitude needs to change towards what those Canadiots think. Instead of blaming them, you should "sell" yourself better so they can overlook the fact that you went to a College.
Ok, I guess that's all.

I went through the same thing, hating college not college vs. university, and I couldn't agree with you more.
That's why I started CollegeSucks.org
The web site is still in the works. I am trying to help people become aware to the simple fact that there is an alternative to college. Not everyone has to go to college to become successful. Anywho. I don't know if anyone is going to read this because this page is pretty old, but I hope someone does.

College does not suck! I am making the decision of my life and I have decided to not continue going to University, instead I will be attending College next year for business. As I see it, you can get a job no problem with a College degree, but you just have to be willing to move or look futher for that job than just around the neighbourhood.
