Coldplay is a Hot Lay

Coldplay is back after their unsuspecting masterpeice entitled "Parachutes" in 2000. This time it's more than just "A Rush of Blood to the Head". After the first few listens, without a doubt it's Coldplay. Emotionally peaceful, powerful and meaningful. That's what I think of when I listen to this.
By now I'm sure you've all heard their first single "In My Place" which is just a great song Radio Happy™ it is. However, it's kind of sad... which seems to be a solid theme throughout the entire album. Messages of love, finding it, losing it, forefitting it... it's all here. But somehow it makes you feel happy... sad... happy... i forget.
Musically I wouldn't really put this very high on the charts, don't get me wrong -- Coldplay plays good shit, but it's very simplistic music with catchy rhythms and pleasant beats (not beets *thwap*). Very relaxing, very smooth and I find myself listening over... and over... and over... and you get the point. But is it a point? No, not really.
As usual though, I've found myself liking other tracks better than the single. I really like "Clocks" -- which seems to be about time, go figure, and the ability to move forward from some something bad. The title track, "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is also up there in the favorites list. Heavy political messages in that one, yep yep (or just a slight dash, remember I'm on crack.).
Overall, it's nice, it's Coldplay and I'm going to give them a big hug if I ever meet them. I do however think it's a bit weaker than "Parachutes" was... Oh well, for that they get half a point off.

The search feature rules! I remembered reading this a while ago... and I was thinking of some music to download, so I poked around a bit, and then tried the search. Whammo!! Awesome.
