Going Postal

About 12 days ago I ordered a computer part, in anticipation of my first real paycheque in well over 2 years. This is groovy, I've needed (read: wanted) this for quite some time. It's a kick ass 3D video card (Known in the Techie world as a GeForce4 Ti4200 with 128MB of ram, dual head and TV In and Out). It's a sweet card, but I haven't gotten it yet. Why?

Well, It took a week to ship even though it was "in stock"; who knows maybe they had an influx of sales and shipping was just slow, ok that's fine. But -- Canada Post sucks donkey balls, and not nice donkey balls either. Big ugly sweaty hairy donkey balls.

Yesterday, 11 days after my order I'm in the kitchen cookin' up a storm when I hear the mailbox. I think nothing of it, I assume it's the normal mail being dropped off so I mozey on out to get it and what do I see? I see the parcel delivery truck driving off. Wait? Was that my parcel? I check the mailbox and there it is -- one of those lovely little slips saying "Sorry, we missed you!". Uh, hold on, I was 3 feet away. You, mr. stupid idiot delivery guy did not knock on the damn door to see if anybody was home! Good god. That's the worst thing Canada Post has ever done. Taking 6 weeks to get something to Tahiti was bad, but this... this takes the cake.

Working Ass

I must say getting a paycheque was a nice touch to last week. But man, work... the whole concept behind it all sucks. I hate working for money. Doing work that's mostly boring as shit. In some cases sitting on the crapper is actually more exciting. I'd rather work for fun, but that's not acceptable in 90% of employment places, and the 10% where it is -- they're not hiring. Although, on the brighter side of work most of the people there are pretty entertaining (and messed up in their own little ways) so as a moron, idiot, crazyfool I fit right in. But work still sucks.

Mindlessnessisity.

Where's the chicks at? Where's the Chicks at? Where's The Chicks at? Where's The Chicks At? wHere's the chicks at? whEre's the chicks at? Not here.

That's all.

You know, I like money. I want lots and lots of money...but you know, it's not the money that would really give me satisfaction but all the stuff that I can/could do with it.
However, I'm not prepared to have a career that I don't like...now I'm not saying that in your case D, that it's necessarily gonna be a career, everyone's gotta start somewhere, but, as far as my future is concerned and my career paths, that's why I'm sticking with Ancient/Medieval History for now with the prospect of university professor one day. And you know what? The pay isn't that amazing (can the professors get paid alot shit b/c not ALL professors do and not so much in my preferred field, it ain't commerce or science folks) but it's something that I don't think that I would wake up every morning and go...oh fuck. Here we go again.
Oh course, at the moment I'm falling behind and have to double my efforts and must get into grad school and AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depending on what and how well you do in high school actually has an impact on whether or not you'll be able to do something you like -- depending on what makes you happy. Knowing back then what makes you happy is just about out of the question so I've found that experiencing a variety of jobs and situations that do not make me happy has worked instead. Yes, the working for money sucks, but it's the way the world works. You can either live with it passively, pro-actively, negatively, or opt out and live in the wilderness. Of course the wilderness is a lonely, but beautiful place, and I like people more than money. So I march forward, passively into the future, neither seeking great riches nor attempting to destroy the foundations of a Capatalist society. But that also means I can spend my time searching for what makes me happy as I am not so concerned with money =)

The important thing about doing well in high school is just that you "do well." It's not so important for you to actually KNOW what you're doing, as it is for you to have a vague notion that you want to participate in a certain kind of career. Doing well prepares you for pretty much any kind of career, including sanitation work. I mean, shit, I like sanitation work. When I see those guys hauling garbage bags, trash cans, and dumpsters, I see real (meaningful) work. I'm even happier when I think that maybe some of these guys are totally content do work. What makes me sad (happy/sad, so cute) is when I think that maybe they slacked off throughout the course of their education, finally decided what they wanted to do, but were unable to correct an entire deficient education. This assumes a couple of really important factors, which may be worth considering. For instance, what is a "deficient" education? (What is an education?) What is the difference bet. schooling and education? What do I mean by "to do?"

Anyway, the point that I'm trying to make is rather brief. The only thing that I "know" about my future is that I plan on continued successes. Sounds vague, but yeah, whatever I do will be done well. When I was ten years old, I believed that I would one day be the President of the United States. (No shit, and maybe one day I'll have the opportunity to explain why, and how I ultimately came to change my position on the issue.) When I was 16 & 17, I thought that I would become a General.

A) I wanted to be a politician, and the "greatest" politician. B) I wanted to be a soldier, and the "greatest" soldier. C) I'll mail a check for five dollars to whoever can guess what I want to do next.... :-) Seriously! :-)

= "I would like to be a philosopher." Statesman, Soldier, Philosopher. I think those are three very general categories with certain historical links.

Yes, I would have paid, but only because I put it up there. I mean, why do that anyway? I thought the trend might have been clear, though. In which case it might not have been such a good idea to offer 5 dollars, US. Anyhoo-
