I know this movie is failry old, but oh well. I'm going to review it and potentially spoil it.

This movie is of an interesting tale about a man, a movie director, who pulls the greatest Hollywood scam ever. He replaces his primary actor with computer generated one and nobody's the wiser. The premise for this change is very realistic. Real actors are costing and demanding way too much. In fact so much that it detracts from the creation of films as an art form. Once he has a falling out with an actor (Winona Ryder, whose character in this movie matches her with incredible similarity but I won't go into that – almost as if it’s an intentional “please hire me again” role) his career goes to shit and he gives this newfound 'technology' a try.

In time Simone (Sih-Moan) is created. The result of a program called Simulation One developed by some dude named Hank who died from an eye tumor while creating this amazing technology (Irony I suppose).

The movie has good flow, but it seems to move way too fast in some spots. In a short period of movie-time there are many releases using Simone with no real indication of time in the movie itself. It seemed as though many years passed but nothing changed with regards to characters or scenery. This annoyed me. Although, itÂ’s not like I really expected to see "5 months later..." every 2 minutes. It seemed as though real time stood still and things were just magically produced with ease.

It's all-good until about half way to two thirds in, then, in my opinion it goes to shit. The flow halts, the props go stupid (take note of the 5 1/4" floppy disk usage, other computer equipment and obvious misuse of other props.) Not to mention the 15 year old hacker kid who saves the day. When you think it's over it's not. It hits a snag and drags on.

Al Pacino acted like his typical drunk and the Canadian, Rachel Roberts, who played Simone was hot - but her limited role was pretty simple and anyone else could have done it. Overall this movie isn't a go-getter. It's a wait-and-see on TV type flick. Mind you, if you feel bored and want to watch it go ahead. I'll drop it a generous 2.5 out of 5 on my evil scale.

I liked it, but the end, as you said, was sappy and stupid...And then the thing, where they create the baby, that was the dumbest damn thing they could have possibly done....I dunno, it was weird.
Yeah.
