Pray for Same Sex

What in Gods great name is the deal with people and same sex marriage laws? Why is it such a big deal that a couple of people, who want to get married, of the same sex, canÂ’t do so?
I canÂ’t believe the religious pacts that are coming out of the woodwork to protest the possibility of modifying the marriage laws.
As some of you may or may not know a few months ago Ontario judges ruled that couples of the same sex could indeed get married. This caused a major outcry among those who are “right” in saying that marriage is the bond between a man and a woman, and only that. But, let’s step back a bit and look at what marriage really is. As I see it, marriage is a dedicated bond of love. Can you marry something else? Can you marry other people, inanimate objects? Can you marry your job? I think you can, maybe not legally but you can hook yourself up to it enough to constitute a phrase “married to his work.” What else can you marry? I think you should be able to marry anything that you love enough and has the ability to say yes to you. Even your dog if you so please. Mind you, there’s no government perks to marrying your dog, but at least you’ll get your leg humped. Actually, there’s no government perks anyways, but that’s another piece.
Historically marriage was an event of religion. And right so; I feel it should remain, in a way. There’s a clear line between state and religion. Any religious pact should, and will in my eyes, be able to deny services to a couple in which fail to meet their religious guidelines. Typically speaking though, they’ll marry any man and woman combo that wants to pay the fees. However, the state, the person at the license counter, the justice of the peace must not be able to deny this to any persons whom wish to bond themselves legally. It’s quite simple really. Two line ups: one for religious weddings and one for same sex. Watch and see what one becomes more popular in the future. Quite frankly, with the given results of most “religious” weddings, same sex ones could improve the divorce percentages. Of course, this also opens up the door for a whole new realm of stats, services and insanely crazy things that I’d rather not discuss because that’s the sort of thing that I shouldn’t care about.
I shouldnÂ’t care about it, because I wonÂ’t and I donÂ’t care about what other people do in their homes, with whomever or however they do it. ThatÂ’s why these religious folk should go back home to reading their book(s) and leave other people alone. ItÂ’s not their business. ItÂ’s not their right to deny others of alternate or non religion of something they so desire.
If God would like this law to remain in tact, as is, I open an invitation for him to come down and deny its progress. Just let me get my camera so I can get a few good pictures, then we can all go drink a lot of wine (he can make water into wine, right?) and forget about everything.

If they want to get married, let them. Id rather see two men get married and be happy for the rest of their lives, then see a man and woman get hitched only to get a divorce a couple years later because they didn't really love eachother, they just wanted to fuck...and they couldnt do that until they were married, or god will fuck them up. I was gonna keep going on about how the same people who oppose it for religious reasons have probably all done something which is against their religion, but im hungry, so im going to eat now.

you're doing very well at proving my point in why I dislike religious fanatics such as yourself. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with being religous, or gay for that matter. The wrongness comes when you push it upon someone like a bad drug. It's none of your business what-so-ever as to what other people do. If I want to sin, drink, use excessive commas, fuck a lot, swear a lot fucking more, look at porn, live an empty life, drive a fast fucking car, then by all means, it's my choice. Not yours.
If god is the creator of all, why did he create weak minded people who are easily swayed to the dark side?
Why did he create booze, sex, rock 'n roll?
Why did he create murderers, rapists, theives and politicians?
Why did he turn all my precious water into wine?
Why did he create homosexuals?
Why did he create Satan?
Besides all that, this matter is a fact of law not religion.

Isnt that whole comment that Le Poulet left a little similar to what Gerry Fallwell said that one time on the 700 club? The whole part about 9/11 being gods way of punishing sinners. I don't remember exactly what he said, but if you want a quote, I'll find it.
LePoulet, you're a fucking joke. If 'God' is so powerful, why would he/she see to it that not only the sinners died, but his/her followers died as well? That seems a little extreme. There are so many things you can't explain, and instead of admitting things or having an open mind, you just hide behind 'God'.
You're hardly thinking for yourself either. If you were thinking for yourself, theres a good chance you'd be more understanding...but oh no, you cant learn to accept gay people...'God' Will kick your ass!

Damn it! You guys have said it all again. However, I will mention a few things. There is the obvious, re-interation of what Ssa said, the whole "Why did God make satan and gay people, if he dislikes it so much" thing. Umm what else? Oh I know, you religious nut: Go read you fucking bible! The thing Soddom and Gomorrah happened (assuming it did) because there was gang-raping going on in the streets. I don't think god gives a shit who was raping whom, and whether or not they were the same gender.
Also, there was a guy there, you know, the one who's wife got turned into a pillar of salt? Yeah, him. He gave his young virgin daughters to an angry mob of rapists, to save angels. And this guy was supposed to be rightious. Way to go, God, you created an asshole with no regard for the lives of his children.
If people like that, and like you, Chicken, are the type that will poppulate heaven, then I'm as glad as hell that I'm not going.
In conclusion, I would like to say two more things: The first is that I would gladly miss out on heaven (even if it wasn't full of biggots and jackasses), if it meant that homo,bi and heterosexual people would have equal rights. The second is aimed even more specifically at Chicken-bitch, if life on earth has nothing to offer us, then why don't you go jump off a bridge, and save the rest of us from your mindless, blind bigotry.

I, personally, think that if two people love each other enough to committ to one another for the rest of their lives, where to we get off saying that they can't if they both happen to have the same set of reproductive organs? Even squid can be homosexual, for crying out loud!
My only problem with homosexual guys arises from the fact that it reduces the males avaliable for us straight females. Other than that...it's their business, not mine.
And that's all she wrote about that...
Besides...didn't the Supreme Court say that the legislation couldn't be brought back to court?
