Well, you heard on the radio today that essential employees were supposed to get to work. Well, this morning I called my boss at 6am to find out what to do. He told me to come in.

For those of you that don't know, I work for Rogers AT&T Wireless as a Computer Programmer and on a day or two a week my salary is paid by dispatching Tickets for celliular site problems. Guess what, Cell phone service is considered an essential service these days!!!!!!

I drove my ass into Toronto this morning at 8:00am after hearing GO service was down and futilely waiting for the VIA train for about 30 minutes. The drive was calm though, there was nobody on the road!!!

So I get here, and the building is closed. It's eerily quiet in the halls. I dropped off my bag at my desk, and walked downstairs to our Network Control Center (NOC) where a handfull of people had gathered. There is about 30 of us here. It's calm now, but this morning it was chaos.

After disptaching and trying to keep people updated all day long, I'm exhausted... and guess what.... I get to do it all again tomorrow. Yay me. Damn power outage.
