For the nerds in all of us...

My friend Chad directed to me a site dedicated to a site dedicated to PI. Well, I thought it was sort of neat, but child's play in this age of computers. So, I've quadrupled the work here for those of us nerdy enough to care.

We had a poster in the back of Mr. Quin's math class with Pi to 10,000 decimal places. I asked him how they got it, but he wouldn't tell me :(

There are lots of formulas for PI out there. Of course, you need a computer program to do a lot of the work, otherwise you'll spend most of your life trying to calculate 10,000 digits!
I think there was a mathemetician in the 1700's (or maybe earlier) that spent the greater part of his life calculating PI to 32 digits!!

wow... hehe, and the funny thing is that those 32 digits are probably accurate enough to do anything practically necessary even in the world of modern engineering; this here seems to me to be rather like a "jack" robot designed to atomize the beanstalk and hew the giant into millions of tiny, geometrically perfect pieces of flesh.
