Well, as I hope you're well aware (though I'm sure at least one of you will leave a comment saying you don't care), there are only 2 teams left in the World Cup. On Sunday, and somewhat surprisingly, France and Italy will battle it out for world football supremacy (I'm in England, so deal with it). The mighty Gauls versus the might Romans! Who am I gonna cheer for? Honestly? Well, I couldn't be bothered. But, I can't sit on the fence for this important issue. No, I shall indeed take a stand and make a choice! You might think that for a Romanist-in-training that the choice would be obvious. But, using that as my criterium is too easy. No, instead I've decided to look at 3 other criteria, and they are all closely related: coffee, food, and wine. You may agree with me on this one; it's no easy task to determine which is truly the best between these two gastronomic titans. But, after much debate, and an Italian pizza for dinner last night (thin crust), I think I've made my choice. Even though French food, coffee, and wine is superb, on this issue I'm going to give the nod to Italy because I like their food, coffee, and wine just a wee bit more (in toto that is). So, Forza Italia! Pinot Grigio, calzones, and espresso for everyone!
