I recalled my affection for this (virtual) place when I came across the pileofcrap.org Facebook group. It always brings a smile to my face, and joy to my heart.
Anyway, how are all of you?

There is no sense longing for the inevitable, since the inevitable does not long for you. It has you in its clutches, and wastes no time worrying that you will slip away.
So let it go.

I'm in Costa Rica right now, just starting a two month stint working down here, just because I can. So the short answer is, better than I've been in years.
How're you, sir?

Hey! I was wondering what had happened to you, recently...
Not much happening here, save that I'm finally done skoo and now have both a degree and no idea what to do with it. Other than that, not a hell of a lot.
You?

Excellent updates! I think I remember everyone's real names, too. I have no excuse for not remembering Darryl's. He saw me do karaoke after all (Eminem, I think).
L: What kind of work are you doing in Costa Rica?
R: What is your degree in? What are you doing while you decide how to use it?
D: I'm okay. As far as I can tell, somewhere b'tween heaven and hell (as a description of how, and not where, I am).

BsC in Anthropology with a minor in Earth Sciences and a minor in Professional Writing...
Not much around here that would need that, unfortunately...and even if my marks were good enough for grad school, I think my head would probably explode if I had to do more courses >:)
Now the plan is to get a job, save money, go to Wales, live in Wales (assuming it doesn't suck), get my citizenship (because I can), and while there take proper photography lessons...and then take pictures of stuff. While not being burden to the state. Then...I have no idea. Maybe do photojournalistic stuff about anthropology and rocks >:)

Well, geological and anthropological photojournalism would definitely be the perfect marriage of everything you've studied. I'm thinking an internship at National Geographic would be ideal, but they reserve those for currently enrolled students. They also have a 'Young Explorers Grant' for people between 18 and 25. You get $2-5K USD to pursue a project of your own choosing, which could be a great opportunity for adventure and burnishing your credentials in a highly competitive line of work.
National Geographic's Young Explorer Grant:
Young Explorers Grants, Funding Information -- National Geographic
and, for good measure, a list of anthropological internships:
Internship Opportunities
Whatever you do, get going! Don't let those skills, talents, and dreams languish!
