Dancing on the Ashes

Well it appears as if Timothy McVeigh is set to die today. What an odd phrase, "set" to die... "Ready , Set, DIE!".. whatever... Give me some feedback on this matter, whatever your stance may be. That includes all you right wing extremist militia members(Tim), and New Age Revolutionaries(Linky).

Now I'm going to bed so I can watch the sun explode from the furthest corner of the sky. This fills my eyes with a bright, blinding light, all the while painting colours and adding flavour and texture previously unknown to this drab landscape. All from my dreams...

To me, it's quite simple. I've never been a believer in punishment, death or otherwise. I just don't think there's any point in it. For the state to exact revenge against someone on behalf of the society for crimes they have committed in the past makes no sense whatsoever. Frankly, it's childish and immature. To *kill* someone as a form of "punishment" is absolute lunacy. There must be, however, a scale on which the importance of one's life is rated if we are to remain in a civilized society. When you kill 168 people in an act of crazed stupidity, the likelihood that you and your society can safely coexist is severely diminished. In the name of safety, they must eliminate you. Sorry, Timmy boy, but die you must.

yeah, what he said.

a death for a murder isn't gonna get you anywhere, cuz who's gonna kill the last man standing?!

A big black bear! that's who that's who!

He now is dead!!!! HAHAHA! Serves the bastard right. That of course is not to say that revenge is the reason for killing him, or even that it should be. Like linky said, you kill him to prevent him from re-offending... Like all other people who commit digusting crimes. Death leaves you 1000% sure that they won't reoffend, ever.

The word patsy comes to mind. Like my mum pointed out, there were too many unanswered questions, like what in the bloody hell were the CIA doing there in the first place? Why did they follow the "suspicious" vehicle when the side of a building was now missing and hundreds of people were dead? Why is the US government not looking for anyone else that could be responsible? One man could not do it by himself...And why did they make the evidence that suggests that there were two separate and untimed explosions disappear? Why bother? Did they know something was going to happen and didn't bother to stop it? Was this an effort to get more funding from the government for their spy games? If so, the US is run by more sick freaks that I previously thought.
Then again, I've been accused of watching too much X-files. But this sort of thing could keep the X-files going for a long, long time, as sick as that is.
Oh well...at least one more psychotic freak is now off the streets and certainly won't be coming back to blow up anything more. But his friends just might...
