It’s rather fitting that TMN showed a movie based on “Bloody-Sunday” in 1972 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It’s fitting because an Irish member of parliament who experienced the slaughter, while undetstandably distraught speaks to the British government and asks them if they realize what they had done. Scores of young Irish men now flocked to the IRA, eager to stike back against the British force of occupation.
Flashforward 32 years and we have the re-election of a president who shares a similar approach to combatting terrorism: there’s nothing like the killing of 100,000 – 200,000 civilians in Iraq, who under Sadam Hussein would still be alive, to ferment further hatred towards America and the West.
So, God bless Bush, the war on terror and in Iraq, and a ban on gay-marriages.
